Anti-Bullying Week 2021 at QIS
From the 14th-18th November 2021, we celebrated ‘Anti-Bullying Week’ across the Primary school. The theme for this year was ‘One Kind Word.’ To promote this, we held an ‘Odd Socks Day’ on Monday 15th November, where students and staff across the school wore their oddest sock combinations as a reminder for us all to celebrate differences and the things that make us all unique.
Students in KS2 also took part in a storyboard competition where they had to create either a digital or hand-drawn storyboard to depict a character being bullied, as well as an upstander using kind words to turn the bullied character’s negative feelings into positive ones. We had some fantastic entries which we shared during an assembly.
Students in Y5/6 created ‘Kindness Matters Rippers’ throughout the week. These were put on display around the block so that students and staff could tear off a strip and get a kind word or phrase when they needed it. These could also be given to friends or staff by the students to spread kindness around the block. It was lovely to see so many of our students sharing kind messages and spreading positivity across our school.
