As the Head of QIS Secondary School, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all parents, students and visitors who access this part of the website.

We offer a British education based on the national curriculum of England. The students study a broad and balanced curriculum in Key Stage 3 (Years 7 to 9) before they begin to specialise in Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11) and Key Stage 5 (Years 12 and 13) to match their personal interests and future career aspirations. The students will take International GCSEs in Key Stage 4, and A level and International A Levels in Key Stage 5. We also offer BTEC qualifications in Key Stages 4 and 5.

Learning comes first

I believe that learning is at its most effective when students are exposed to high quality teaching in a challenging and supportive environment. Teaching and learning under pins everything that we do at QIS. We want to support students, providing a strong platform, to ensure that future career plans and aspirations can become reality.  Students attain qualifications that are far above the UK national and international averages.

During their time at QIS, our students are encouraged to supplement their formal education through our vast extra-curricular programme. Activities such as; debating, Model United Nations, sporting activities and teams, The International Award (UK – Duke of Edinburgh) and many others take part on a weekly basis.

The behaviour of the students and their willingness to succeed ensures that QIS is popular with students, teachers and parents.

Class sizes in Secondary are smaller than those in most schools in the UK.  All teachers are qualified to an internationally recognised standard.

I have asked some of our students for their comments:

“The main reason I like QIS is because it gives us an excellent education and is a fantastic place for students to learn. It has a variety of subjects and after school activities. It is a safe environment, and it is a perfect place for us to study.”

“I like Qatar International School because the teachers are not just good fun, they also teach us very well. Everyone here is so kind.”

“I don’t like QIS I love it! It gives me an opportunity to have fun but at the same time work hard.”

“I like being at QIS because it has a variety of international students, which means that you meet students who come from another country, and you also learn about different cultures.”

“I’ve been at QIS for nine years now and every year the teachers seem to be getting better and better. I have been able to make amazing friends and improve in so many of my subjects.”

Please take time to browse through the rest of the Secondary section of the website.
